There is a decision to be made with your first shot of the day. Do you try to thread the gap between the bunkers and ditch with your driver, making the green reachable in two, or play safe with a hybrid or long iron to the wider part of the fairway? If electing the safe route, your second shot needs to avoid two bunkers around 50 yards from the front of the green and your approach shot will need to be accurate to find a narrow, subtly undulating green.  Fortune favours the brave and starting with a chance of a birdie can set you up nicely for the hardest stretch of the course soon to follow.
